- DIRECTOR OF PAYROLL AND ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Summary of Duties:
-Directs the personnel, operational and financial activities of the Payroll and Accounts Payable departments.
-Creates and oversees the development of functional processes and department policies.
-Develops short to long range goals and measures for the area of responsibility and oversees the assessment of goal attainment.
-Develops, seeks approval of, monitors and ensures compliance with the budget for area of responsibility.
-Assists the VP, Finance in the development of broader policies, goals, and objectives based on strategic plans.
-Directs the review, audit, and processing of payroll, payment of all payroll related taxes and deductions, and filing of required tax returns in conformance with established accounting principles, contracts, policies, and procedures.
-Directs the review and processing of all employee W-2 forms and vendor 1099 forms and the related reporting required for each.
-Directs the review, audit, and processing of vendor invoices and reimbursable employee expenses in conformance with established accounting principles, contracts, policies, and procedures.
-Reviews the accuracy of reports used for the preparation of the general ledger reporting systems.
-Provides expert technical guidance to all levels of management within the organization on payroll and accounts payable policies, systems and practices.
Selects, trains, directs, and evaluates performance of staff
-Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, industry requirements and company policies.
-As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. 8+ years of progressive experience in payroll and strong knowledge of accounts payable.
3. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing a team larger than 6 F-T employees.
4. Experience working in a large corporate organization supporting multiple facilities.
